Spiral privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
Spiral is a Chrome extension that turns your new tab page into a notepad. This page explains what it stores and where.
What Spiral stores
- Your note, and your settings, such as theme and whether the word or character count is shown.
- These are saved with Chrome's built-in storage (
chrome.storage):- On your computer, so your note survives closing the tab.
- In Chrome sync, if you have it turned on. Chrome then keeps a copy in your Google account, so the note appears on your other computers. That copy is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
What Spiral does not do
- It does not send your note, or any other data, to the developer or any third party.
- It has no servers and makes no network requests.
- It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies.
- It does not read the websites you visit. Its only permission is
storage.
Deleting your data
Clear your note in Spiral, or uninstall the extension. To also remove the synced copy from your Google account, reset Chrome sync data at chrome.google.com/sync.
